

Mrs. Minnie Kanoy Younts, 88 of Thomasville died on January 14, 2015 at Hinkle Hospice House.
Mrs. Younts was born on June 16, 1926 in Davidson County, a daughter of Joseph Roby and Minnie Tomlinson Kanoy. She was married on June 14, 1947 to Festus A. Younts who preceded her in death in 1996. She was also preceded in death by a brother Joe Kanoy, a sister Margaret Sink Witcher, and 2 nephews Sherman Kanoy and Bob Sink.
She is survived by her son Aaron Younts and his wife Patsy of Thomasville, a nephew Jerry Kanoy and wife Georgia of Thomasville, and two nieces, Cheryl Plummer and husband Phil and Martha Younts all of Lexington and 2 sisters-in-law, Ettie Younts and Marie Kanoy both of Thomasville.
Mrs. Younts was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church, the United Ladies Sunday School Class and was a member of the WMU. She was a homemaker having lived in this area all of her life.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 18th at Liberty Baptist Church of Thomasville, 225 Liberty Ave., Thomasville, NC with Pastor David Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 17th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph St. in Thomasville.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Piedmont Crossing and Hinkle House of Davidson for their kindness shown during her stay.
