
He was born September 25, 1919 in Randolph County; a son of the late Bert and Minnie Williams Younts.
Woodrow is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 71 years, Grace Parrish Younts (Dec. 24, 2009); sisters, Hazel Bumgardner, Kathleen Sprinkle, Alice Sprinkle and Sally Hoover; brothers, Wayne Younts, Baxter Younts, John Younts, and Robert Younts; son-in-law, Frank Cross; grandson, Mitchell Cross.
He is survived by a son, Woody Younts, Jr. and wife Phyllis of Trinity; daughters, Frances Cross of Trinity, Vivian Swaim and husband Bobby of Thomasville, Wanda Hill and husband Bobby of Thomasville; 7 grandchildren: Cheryl Watson, Will Swaim, Mitzi Marlowe, Woody Younts III, Lori Lagrama, Tyler Younts, Lance Hill; 11 great grandchildren: Frankie Watson, Chris Watson, Jake Watson, Isaiah Younts, Ellie Younts, Samantha Lagrama, Abigail Lagrama, Landon Hill, Zac Rogers, Grace Cross, Mitchell Cross; 2 great great grandchildren: Landon Watson and Kaylee Watson; brother, Wade Younts; 1 step great great grandson, Dylan Lundy.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 15, 2011 from 6 to 8 P.M at Thomasville Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday January 16th at Tabernacle United Methodist Church with Reverend Douglas Stevens and Reverend Bill Foust officiating followed by interment in the church cemetery.
