Very peacefully at the age of 87 after a short illness, on April 16, 2009. Loving husband to Madalene (nee Wright) for 59 years. Father of Karen, Stephen, Diane and Linda. Grandfather to Jennifer, Sarah and Stephanie. He will be missed by his new friends at Christie Gardens in Toronto, his snooker buddies at Legion Branch 461 in Brantford, and by the hundreds of fellow golfers he met during his long career as a professional golfer and past President of CPGA Ontario. In 1947, he shot his first hole-in-one at Cedar Brae golf course. He set course records at Cliffcrest and Kawartha, and served as pro in Peterborough, St. Clair Beach, Orangeville, Brantford, and Turkey Point. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Toronto Western and Toronto Grace. All are welcome to attend the Celebration of Life on Tuesday, April 21 at R. S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street, Toronto (Visitation 10am, Service 11am, Reception 12pm). Private burial at St. John's Norway Cemetery. Memorial donations to Alzheimer Society of Canada or Toronto Grace Health Centre are welcome.
