Audrey, also known as Dr. Pretty, died peacefully after a long battle with cancer. She was born to Betty and Walter Pretty in Stanmore, England. She is survived by her husband Duncan, children Peter (Eva) and Linda, and siblings Beryl Wright, Carol Brigstocke, and Derek Pretty. Also, her grandchildren Annika and Evan Stratton, and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Audrey arrived in Canada in April 1965 after graduating from Guy's Hospital Dental School in London in 1964. She worked as an intern at Toronto General and Toronto Western Hospitals for the first year in Canada. She then practiced with Dr. Olynyk, DDS for many years until he retired. She opened her own practice and worked until she retired in 2005. Since retirement she has worked in many areas of social justice including people of the First Nations, those with disabilities, and refugees from Syria. She was an active member of the Church of the Incarnation, formerly All Souls, in Toronto. She had many leadership roles and demonstrated the passion for social justice through many of the ministries. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and most especially spending time at her cottage in Georgian Bay. A private funeral has been held. A Celebration of Life will be held on a date to be determined.
