Bert passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015, about 7 years after being diagnosed with multiple myeloma. He did so with his usual courage and poise, and died in peace on his own terms with his family around him.
Bert is predeceased by his beloved mother, Judith. He was a loving husband to Erika, devoted and amazing father to Ella and Alexia, and a great uncle to Natalie, Max and Gretel. He will be greatly missed by his beloved father, Bertalan; his brother, Gabor; his uncle Imre; and mother-in-law, Elza.
After graduating from Lakehead University, Bert had a very successful business career for over 30 years in the executive search field, which resulted in lifetime relationships.
Upon learning of his condition, Bert did not dwell on the every-day struggle to survive, but the joy he found in embracing whatever life he had and enjoying every moment of it. He loved Muskoka and had very fond memories of many summers spent there through his life. He loved a long run, he loved to ski, to swim in the lake, to golf, and most of all to be silly with his girls. He dreamed big and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.
May you rest in peace Bert, as memories of you live on... You will forever and ever be remembered and loved.
Family and friends are invited to honor Bert’s life in a Memorial Mass at 11:00 am on Monday, November 2nd, 2015 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church (432 Sheppard Ave E, North York), followed by a reception.
Should you wish, donations may be made to The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation for the Multiple Myeloma research.
