A true Yorkshire Rose passed away on Monday June 27, 2016 at Mount Sinai Hospital in her 90th year. Predeceased by her loving husband Peter (founder of General Conveyor Company Ltd.) who she met in England during WWII. Catherine crossed the Atlantic on the Queen Mary in 1947 landing in New York. She then took the train to Toronto's Union Station where she was met by Peter and Nana Bell to start a new life in Canada. She was one of the pioneers of Willowdale. Survived by her beloved daughters Jennifer (William Rickard), Pamela (John Kurlowicz) and Barbara, grandmother to Andrew Rickard and Katlynd Kurlowicz, sister to John Gilder, aunt to Jacqui Morrison. A gathering to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday June 30, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the R. S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street (at Goulding, south of Steeles). Interment to follow at York Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
