Passed away peacefully on August 5th, 2015 at the age of 93 with her loving daughters at her side. Predeceased by her husband and soul mate of 68 years, Welsford Allan (2008), beloved son, Jeffery Gordon Marshall (2012) (Diana Stephens Marshall and Nancy Smith Marshall) and her very special Grandson, Marshall Lucas Redpath (2013). She was a loving mother and best friend of her daughters Jill Paton (Andrew) and Joni Redpath (Bob Currie). She was an inspiration and dearly loved by her 10 Grandchildren who together have blessed her with 13 Great Grandchildren. Growing up as the youngest of 5 children, she was lovingly nicknamed Doll. Her husband affectionately called her Mia. The name Mia was then adopted by all the family and was how all her Grandchildren, their spouses and Great Grandchildren affectionately called her. She lived her life with grace and quiet dignity. Her kind, generous and cheerful disposition made her a joy to be around. Mum loved gardening and playing bridge with her many friends. She also loved to cook and was famous for her butter tarts and snickerdoodles. Many have tried, but few have succeeded in making her boiled icing. Dorothy was an avid golfer who enjoyed many rounds of golf with friends and family at the cottage in Dunany, Quebec, Beaconsfield Golf Club, (Montreal), Thornhill Golf and Country Club (Toronto) and Piper's Landing (Palm City, Florida). We know our champion golfer is now in heaven playing golf with her husband Wels, son Jeff and Grandson Lucas. A private family service has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Church, Thornhill, the Bob Rumball Centre for the Deaf, or a charity of your choice. The Family wishes to give special thanks to Premiere Home Care and their extremely kind and caring staff.
