Passed away peacefully with his
family and loved ones by his side at
St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Toronto,
on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at the
age of 51. Beloved son of Edward
O’Hare Sr. and the late Margaret
O’Hare, brother to Kathleen O’Hare
and her partner Trevor Whelton.
Edward fought the autoimmune
disease Neurosarcoidosis for 4
years and while the illness left him
paralyzed, he remained positive
throughout his struggle, never
once complaining. Edward was a
kind and gentle soul who would
do anything for anyone in need.
He was very helpful to the elderly
people in his neighbourhood of
North York. He was an avid sports
fan and had an in-depth knowledge
of, and passion for music, which
he shared enthusiastically. He will
be sadly missed by his immediate
and extended family members in
both Canada and Ireland, including
many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Thank you to Aunt Bernadette
Lancaster who kept in touch with
the family every day. Thank you
to all the doctors, nurses, social
workers, personal care workers and
community care workers who cared
for and helped Edward. Visitation
will be held on Friday, March
11th from 12:30 p.m. until time of
Funeral Service at 1:30 p.m. in the
Chapel at the R.S. Kane Funeral
Home, 6150 Yonge Street (at
Goulding, south of Steeles). Private
cremation. Condolences may be
