Elizabeth Goulding-Gartside

Peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital, with family love at her side, on Saturday, October 16, 2004. With courage and dignity, Liz lost her ongoing two year battle to breast cancer. Beloved wife for 17 years to David Gartside, loving daughter of David and Jane Goulding. Dear sister of Susan (Tom) O'Hearn (Orillia), David, Jennifer (Scott) Randall (Whitby). Liz leaves behind her dear mother-in-law Loraine Gartside (Burlington), sister-in-law Gail (Eric) Tufford (St. Catharines), brother-in-law Bill Gartside (Rothesay, NB), and predeceased by father-in-law Lewis Gartside.

Liz was a special 'Uncle' to nieces and nephews: Ryan, Megan and Katie O'Hearn, Harlan, Ethan and Bianca Tufford, Jessica and Christopher Randall, Bryan and Christie Gartside and Austin and Zachary Roche.

In addition to her immediate family, many friends helped Liz endure this battle. Her family sincerely appreciates their help and on-going compassion to Liz and family during this difficult time.

The medical community, North York General Hospital and Sunnybrook and Women's College Health Sciences Centre, provided exceptional care. The patient, doctor and support staff relationships went beyong the call of duty. Liz was always surrounded with love and compassion. Particular thanks to Maggie Kaplan for 2 years of excellent and loving home care services.

Visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street at Goulding, south of Steeles). Funeral Service to take place Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at 11 am at Thornhill United Church (25 Elgin Street, off Yonge, north of Steeles). Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
