George Kelly

George died peacefully with family on Friday July 21 at the age of 76, after a battle with cancer. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his wife Elline and sister Nancy Price (McGuffin). Loving father and father-in-law of Bruce Kelly & Joanne Selves, Lynne & Ned Ivanovich and Scott & Jenifer Kelly. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Blain, Jessica, Taylor, Kira, Sean and Julia. Dear stepfather to Carol Weber, Norman, Randal, and Sue Munroe, and step-grandfather to Heidi, Alex, Lindsay, Kenneth, Thomas, Ian, Mark and Sarah. Predeceased by his beloved first wife, Joyce Kelly. George worked for Union Carbide for 31 years and had been the Controller prior to his retirement in 1988. Long time Thornhill resident until moving to Oakville in 1995. George became an active member of the Finance Committee in his Oakville condo, and was respected for his good judgment and reliable decisions. George was an avid bridge club member and enjoyed traveling, golf, sailing and exploring some of Ontario?s roads less traveled. He was a special man who touched many friends and relatives. Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 25 from 2-4 pm and 7-9pm at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday July 26, 2006 at 11 am. Donations may be made to the Ian Anderson House Foundation.
