Giuseppe D'Aversa

It is with much sadness, after a long battle with cancer, Giuseppe D'Aversa passed away peacefully at St. Michael's Hospital on Saturday March 21, 2009. He is survived by his two children; son Michael and daughter Lidia; granddaughter Alisha and mother of his two children Giuseppina D'Aversa and best friends Gaetano and Margherita Mangano. Giuseppe was an avid lover of music and dancing and is fondly remembered for his love of playing cards and bocce. He was a generous volunteer at the Columbus Centre. Visitation will be held Monday March 23rd from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday March 24th at 11 am at St. Joseph the Worker Church (191 Wade Gate, Thornhill). Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery (Yonge Street, Thornhill). In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to "Wings of Hope - St. Michael's Hospital Foundation" 30 Bond Street, Toronto, ON, M5B 1W8.
