saying goodbye was the hardest thing, but knowing that you loved us and kept us close to your heart was special...... God wrapped his arms around you and took you quietly away from us. So you wouldn't have to suffer anymore. He brought you to a paradise as you deserved to have, to watch over us and protect us and to know that everything on earth will be OK     Giuseppe Rea was a loving father, grandparent great grandparent,brother,and a friend. He was a man of compassion,love,kindness,sweet hearted and down to earth.  But this man was a hard worker he came here with nothing and gave us everything...he showed our family love constantly, and his family always came first no matter what!... he brought us together as whole family, memories like these will live on in our hearts forever and ever. You were the boss, the warrior, you were a fighter till the end, YOU ARE MY HERO <3

     As i sit here today tearing as I write this to you, I just wanna tell you I love you very much from the bottom of my heart and you will be missed greatly...as a kid i was always was excited to come over, any holiday you name it, this meant seeing you and hanging out with the cousins and everybody was the best...especially new years celebrating each year you were here with us, but now your gone it will be hard but deep down I know your here with us celebrating with your glass of wine...as I got older and now understand I'm appreciative that i had many years to spend with you and the whole family, and I wanna say thank you, and I'm proud to call myself a REA.
     Even though your gone right now this doesn't mean goodbye, I'll meet you up in heaven eventually MY FRIEND ♥♥♥:)

Dear Nonno Joe, I'm going to miss your stories...the last time I visited you in the hospital you told me that when you got out, you would trap a beaver or raccoon to get their tooth and we'd put it in my mouth to fill my missing front tooth. Dear Nonno Joe, To me it doesn't seem real, it feels like your still at your home. It will never be the same without you. Giuseppe N. Rea Written by Joseph R. Rea – First Grandson & Ingrid Rea Dearest Nonno.... My Nonno will be remembered as a hardworking and modest man. He had simple needs. He was forthright and honest, a person with humble beginnings who placed a great value on family and friendship. I will remember him as the strongest link in the chain that held our beautiful family together. I will remember him as a man who was content with what life had given him. He never asked for much and in the 89 years, he lived a simple life. Giuseppe N. Rea was born in Italy on Sunday April 10, 1921 The direction of this early period of his life started with his steamship voyage across the Ocean from Italy to Halifax, NS, Canada and then a long train ride to Hamilton. He eventually later settled in Toronto followed by Willowdale in 1954. He purchased his house at 284 Churchill Ave for $17,000 his pride and joy... His early life was marked with many obstacles and hardships. He worked many rotten jobs but was proud the be a Canadian. He became a Canadian citizen May 18th, 1954. During the 89 years of his life, he spent more than 56 years in Canada. He helped many people and he fulfilled some heavy responsibilities. Through it all, he remained a practical man with simple needs. Perhaps this was a secret to his longevity. My grandfather was a man who touched each of our lives in different ways: as a spouse, as a father, as a grandfather, as a great grandfather, as an uncle, and as a friend. I will remember his stories. I will remember his sharp wit. I will remember his wet kisses. I will remember his strong hands. I will remember is cologne. I will remember all the visits to my work. I will remember our lunches at the Mandarin. I will remember all his many inventions. He was a man who held basic values of trust, honesty, integrity, and friendship. I’m honored to be named after him. It is so difficult for my generation to understand the hardships endured by those who walked before us. Seldom do we recognize the sacrifices made for us. Hearing stories of my grandfather's life, I cannot imagine what it must have been like. Such a life is not lived without courage, determination, and perseverance. It's true that the battles and times we face now are different than those of the past, but we can always draw from the knowledge that we too can find inner strength during hard times just as he did. So as we commemorate his life, we celebrate the legacy he has left us. His legacy is in his family and his friends. His legacy is the people that he has helped, and in the lives that he has touched. He has left us a history. A history of pride in culture and of pride in family. And now this history is in our hands to carry on where he left off. He will be greatly missed and always remembered.
