I have known Janice since high school.  She was a dear friend, who was part of little group of very tight knit friends all through high school. Even after I moved away from Toronto, I would see Janice every couple of years when we would have mini reunions organized by our mutual good friend Jim Priest, who was also taken soon. Rest in Peace Janice.




My deepest condolences to Jan's family.  I was a work colleague of Jan's  for  a few years before I retired.    I remember Jan as a very strong  and courageous person and  I also found that she was very kind hearted.  Jan, you will be remembered with fond memories.  RIP 

Jan and I became friends when I moved into an apartment beside hers in October, 2007.  Over the next 14 years, we spent many happy hours together even after I moved to another nearby apartment building.  Among the most memorable times we shared  were the trips we made to Unionville on summer days where we always toured Toogood Pond Park and later shopped along Main Street and ended up at Kawartha Dairy for an ice cream cone, of course! Jan was smart, independent, strong, funny, generous, kind, and thoughtful.  The best of friends. She was an amazing balcony gardener rivaling any photographs appearing in Better Homes and Gardens. And her housekeeping skills? Put me to shame! Jan, I will always think of you every time I clean my bathtub with my "Tub Scrub", the best cleaning tip you ever gave me. As the song went in "Golden Girls", thank you for being a friend!

I have known Janice since grade school.  She was one of my best friends.  Her humor and kindness was the same way back when as it was until the end.  R.I.P.  my dear, dear friend.  You are already greatly missed.  Love ya, me






I have known Jan for the past 20 years , she was both a friend and a colleague. Jan was  known for her quick wit and her dry sense of humour but always loved and respected by friends and colleagues alike.

Jan always had me in stitches with her humour and I could always count on her to keep me updated with the current office gossip lol

I met Janice over 10 years ago at work. I considered her my Fairy Godmother.  She was kind and had a tremendous sense of humour. You will be missed Jan, more than you realize. Deepest sympathies to her family.

I have been a friend of Janice’s for more than 50 years. She was part of our tightknit group of High School friends, who have managed to stay in touch over the years. As much as we all change, we remain the same. She was kind, generous, and had a great sense of humor. Like so many of our little group, she was taken much to early and will be greatly missed. 

My condolences to all Jan's family and friends. She was a genuine and strong woman who lived life on her own terms. She spent most of her life working as a Public Servant and took pride in this. She impacted many and will not be forgotten.

I first met Janice back in high school...more than 50 years ago.  She was a true friend who will be greatly missed.  She was warm, caring and humorous.  When Janice became your friend, you could be sure that your life would be better for knowing her.

What can I say Jan…you were a blast and one of a kind. Enjoy your trip and cut your own path as you always did. It was a joy working with you and knowing you. 

I went to school with Janice and will always remember her as a lovely person and good friend. The world is a little less with her passing.

Very saddened by the loss of my dear friend Jan.   My condolences to her family at this difficult time.   I was lucky enough to have met Jan through work - she was a friend like no other.  Because of our similar backgrounds - born & raised in Vancouver, attending the same high school York Mills (at different times), and as we both joked "having both been blessed with incredibly good looks :)" - we used to call ourselves sisters from another mister.  My nickname for Jan was Josepha which we thought was funny because she had told me that the name was given to her from her high school Spanish teacher.   I can honestly say Jan's sense of humor and ability to make people laugh was a gift like no other, and she will remain the funniest female that I have ever met.  So blessed to have been friends with such a unique and incredible woman.  I was also with her the day of the horrible North York van attack and we happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time - but she literally pulled me to safety and I will be eternally grateful to her for her quick instincts, kind heart and thoughtfulness. 

The good times we had together, hilarious memories and endless laughs will never be forgotten and will be in my heart forever.  We have lost an incredibly special woman and her impact on my life will always be remembered.  She will be eternally missed
