Passed away on Friday, January 30, 2009 at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre at the age of 71. Predeceased by her beloved husband Kuldar. Loving mother of Nanci Bennett and her husband John. Cherished grandmother of Lance and Corey. Survived by her mother Muriel Backer, her sister Betty Valade and her brother Danny Backer, all of Mattawa, ON. Friends may call on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
