Joan Young

With great sadness the family of Joan Catherine Young announces her peaceful passing, just short of her 93rd birthday. Joan, known to many as Vie, will be missed and fondly remembered by her husband of 68 years Roy (Aston). Loving mother of Roy (Sjanna), Clayton (Maria), and Donna (deceased); devoted grandmother of Courtney (Tom Mayer), Scott, Michelle, and Sean. Also survived by her siblings Una, Vera, Anita, Charlie (Norma), Albert (Rosa), Jean (Phillip), Valerie, Mike, and many nieces and nephews. Very special thanks to the staff of Willows Estate Long Term Care Home, Aurora and Dr. Michael Dawson for the extraordinary care they provided in her final years. Visitation will be held held on Wednesday, April 8th from 6-8 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street., at Goulding, south of Steeles). A funeral mass will be held on Thursday April 9th, 2015 at 11:00 am at Our Lady Queen of the World Church, 10411 Bayview Ave, Richmond Hill, ON. Interment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 8361 Yonge St, Thornhill, ON. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Willows Estate Long Term Care Home.
