OBITUARIO
John William Bell
12 octubre , 1961 – 16 noviembre , 2020
We are saddened to announce the passing of our dear husband and father John Bell. He will be missed by his wife of 23 years, Stephanie and by his daughters Julia and Jessica. Beloved brother to Norma Marcotte (Greg) and Betty Andersen (Anders), he will also be missed by sister-in-law Rosemary Mayhew (Paul), his many nieces, nephews and friends.
John was pre-deceased by his parents John and Eileen and his sister Janet.
John was born and raised in Chatham, Ontario where he grew up with three older sisters. In high school he excelled in sports, especially football winning MVP as Center one season.
He attended Bishop's University in Lennoxville, Quebec where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. From there he accepted employment in Toronto where he lived for over thirty five years.
He enjoyed serving his clients as a Certified Financial Planner for many years. He will be remembered for his love of golf, curling, scuba diving and camping but most importantly for the love of his two daughters. John was always well known for his friendly ways, his kindness, generous spirit and willingness to help others.
Service will be held privately at this time but the family does invite you to join them virtually through the link at www.rskane.ca . On Saturday, November 28th the slideshow presentation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by John’s service at 10:30 am.

I got to know John best at the camping trips at Pinery where many of the neighbours would drive for hours just to be together for a weekend. John would always call out to say "Hi"as we walked by on the road past his campsite (sometimes several times a day), always welcoming me over to share in an afternoon beer. It was over these times that I learned of John's pursuits, and really admired him in taking the time to following his passions of diving and curling, often encouraging me to join the curling club.
I will remember John the most for his late night swims in cold Lake Huron, just before sundown, all of us thinking him crazy.
But that was John.
I'll really miss him, and will never forget our memories together on the campsite.

John was my mentor and gave me advice and assistance whenever I needed it, this I will always treasure.
He was also my division manager and encouraged me to go for awards then made sure I got it together to get over the finish line.
I will always remember the times when we went on our motorbike rides which were fortunately ticket free.

I am saddened to hear of John's passing. I would not say that I knew him well, but I saw him most Monday evenings at the golf course for the past dozen years or so.
John always had a warm greeting and a smile and when he asked 'how are you' I always felt that he actually cared about the answer.
John will be sadly missed by many of us on Monday evenings.

I always loved hearing about Uncle John’s adventures and travel. He loved scuba diving and often told us about where he had gone. I remember hearing about the Great Barrier Reef for the first time from him and it’s still on my travel list.
I also remember visiting Uncle John and Aunt Stephanie and meeting Julia for the first time. They were in awe of their beautiful new daughter. She really loved cheese!
You will be greatly missed Uncle John.

We will remember the many, many good times we shared, and enjoyed John’s company. Down to earth, warm, and full of good humour, John was the best cottage guest; any weather was perfect for a swim in the lake – even a thunderstorm. John, you are gone too soon and we will never forget the wonderful person you were.

Dearest Stephanie, Julia and Jessica:
I've thought of you and John all week and am still in shock. John was a huge presence everywhere he went. This makes no sense and everyone I have talked to is in disbelief. I'm so saddened by this and will miss John dearly. It's so hard to believe and accept that he is gone. I know he will always be in our hearts looking down upon us and will be in your thoughts to guide you forever.

To Stephanie and your girls. I was shocked and saddened to hear of your husband's/Dad's passing. He was such a young and vital man. Stephanie and 4 others, sat with me in a Zoom gathering last Sunday, just a day before John passed, talking about events that impacted our lives significantly. It was lovely to see the love in Stephanie's face in talking about her family and their strong ties to our church. My thoughts are with you and your girls at this difficult time.
