Passed away peacefully at North York General Hospital on Sunday, September 27, 2015 with his family by his side. Survived by his loving wife Helen Doherty; children Loretta, Richard and partner Lisa, Jacqueline and husband
Peter; dog Dipso; grandchildren Richard, Justin and Samantha; siblings Andrew, Patrick, Victor, Vincent, Ruby and Lillian and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by first wife Peggy and brother Anthony. We would like to thank the nurses on 4 North and ICU at NYGH for their wonderful care of John. Additional thanks to Drs. Abdalian, Shin and Minnema for their compassionate efforts. Visitation will be held at the R.S Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge St. (at Goulding, south of Steeles), Toronto, on Friday, October 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Trinity Church, 3220 Bayview Ave., on Saturday, October 3rd at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
