Just shy of his 91st birthday our much-adored husband and father, John, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 24, 2006. Loving husband, of 43 years to Ann, father to Amanda and Geoffrey (wife Andrea, grandson James in New Zealand), brother to Valerie O'Keeffe and Patricia Potts, brother-in-law, William Potts, and nephew Ian. A retired WWII veteran, John was a Major in the Royal Warwickshire regiment. He served his beloved England in North Africa and Italy; was aide-de-camp to General Bernard Montgomery and was the recipient of the 1939-1945 Star, the Africa Star, the Italy Star, the Defense Medal, the War Medal with Oak Leaf (mentioned in dispatches), and the Territorial Medal. A grand gentleman with a kind heart will be sadly missed by many friends and family but lives forever in our hearts. A celebration of life will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 140 Brooke Street, Thornhill, ON, on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. A reception will be held following the service in the auditorium - all are welcome.
