John Brown Irwin

John, in his 87th year, born in Belleville, son of the late Ross and Edith (Brown) Irwin, went peacefully to be with Jesus on Monday October 23rd at Baycrest Hospital in Toronto. A wonderful and cherished Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Uncle and dear friend to so many, while sadly missed by all, will always be remembered fondly as a true gentleman with a caring, kind, patient and thoughtful spirit. John, a loving and devoted husband, will be forever missed but lovingly remembered by his wife, “Sweetie” and best friend of 47 years, Margaret. John was a loving father to his children David West (Sharon), Gail Jacques (nee Irwin), Brian Irwin, and Chuckie Irwin (deceased). A much-loved brother-in-law to Mary Wilson (the late Charles) and cherished uncle to Heather Wilson. A loving grandfather to his beloved granddaughter Ashley (Jason), grandsons Lucas (Sarah), Phillip (Dawn) and Kevin (Kelly). A proud great-grandfather of eight. Predeceased loved brother-in-law to Bill Warman (deceased). Uncle to Liz Warman, Frank Warman (Marguerita) and great-uncle to Ray and Jeremy. John’s gentle nature and laid-back sense of humor was appreciated by all and was endearing to his many life-long friends. He was a happy, contented man who loved music of all kinds, in particular the Worship Team at Spring Garden Baptist Church, where for over 47 years he enjoyed fellowship and developed many meaningful relationships with the wonderful pastoral team, members and staff. John was a dedicated employee of Blackwood Hodge Equipment for over 37 years and enjoyed enduring friendships with many colleagues.
