John Francis Lynch

November 28, 1919 - January 26, 2007

After a lengthy illness, Jack passed away peacefully at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital in Orillia. Loving husband of Claire Briggs Lynch. Pre-deceased by his first wife, Phyllis Maureen Slack (1968) and his parents, Catherine (McCarney) Lynch and Francis J. Lynch. Loving father of Catherine (Bob) Shelston, Gerry Lynch (Brenda Jongkind), Patricia (Don) Diehl, Susan (David Doolittle) Lynch and Deborah (Carlo Esposito) Lynch and his stepfamily, Barbara (Maurice) Daignault, Susan (William) Hardy, John (Sandra) Briggs and their wonderful families. Loving grandfather of Christine (Stuart Narduzzo), Michael (Sara Purnell) and Brian Shelston, Patrick and Michelle Lynch, Shannon, Riley and Fraser Doolittle. Jack had spent the past 31 summers with Claire at his treasured cottage on Balsam Lake, which he built in 1950 together with his father. His most cherished memories were of times spent there with family and friends. A devoted and loving wife, Claire was his guiding hand through his later years of declining health enabling him to live out his life at the place he loved most. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday January 29, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Roman Catholic Church (3220 Bayview Avenue, at Finch Avenue). Interment St. Peter's Cemetery in Peterborough. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation Dialysis Unit, 10 Angeline Street North, Lindsay, ON K9V 4M8.
