I was very shocked to be told by Father David Harrison rector of St.Mary Magdalene Church last week that John had died and his funeral was Jan 14th. I go to the 11 AM High Mass at St.Mary Magdalene which john attended also. I called him and didn't get an answer and sent him a email. I asked several people at church who said they hadn't heard anything.Aparently it was announced one Sunday I wasn't there.He went by the name of Kjell Hanson at SMM which led to some confusion.I knew John when he used to come to Integrity in the early eighties then I lost track of him until fairly recently.I remember when he had me to a 7 course dinner in the early 80's,he was a very talented chef.I'm really very sorry to hear I was so late hearing Sincerely, Peter Iveson Toronto

To the family of John McCormick, I wish to express my deepest sympathy. John was my neighbour on the tenth floor. We would exchange greetings upon seeing one another in the hallways and elevators, usually during the times when he was taking his beloved dog, Tyrone, to and from walks. I shall miss seeing them both. We are all left with lovely memories of a gentle man and his constant companion. May he rest in eternal peace. .....Thomas H. Tyson

I'm sorry to hear about John. I was shocked to hear of his passing. I talked to him often. I lived in the same building as he did. I would always see him walking Tyron. My puppy also liked him and Tyron. We will miss him.

I cannot adequately express my shock at the passing of John. I was his neighbour below him in apartment 903 for a long time. John and I became friends. I will always remember his many kindnesses to me during this time. I would often come home to find a beautifully wrapped package containing a loaf of his delicious home baked bread. I will miss him.
