Beloved wife of Harold for 64 years; adored mother of the late Dr. Barbara Mellor and Jane Martin; mother-in-law to John Mellor and Lee Stratton; caring grandmother of Nicholos, Elizabeth and Catherine; sister of Mamie and the late Don and Wyn; loving aunt and friend. Jo departed this life peacefully after a period of illness. Jo is remembered for the love, laughter and joy that she brought to the lives of her family and friends. Abundant hospitality was always extended to guests of the family home in Willowdale and the cottage in Port Elgin. Jo contributed to every social occasion: chocolate cupcakes for her grandchildren's birthday parties; style and elegance to all occasions with friends and colleagues; thoughtful reflections shared with her Bible study groups. Jo is also remembered for her service as Co-Chair of the North York Daffodil Campaigns in support of the Canadian Cancer Society; Chair of the Memorial Committee of Lansing United Church; and numerous other contributions to charitable works. We wish to express deep gratitude to Editha, Agnes, Jennifer, Mae and Iztle, who cared so lovingly for Mom; Dr. J. Chin and Jo's nephew, Dr. J. Swan, who provided guidance and support; and all of the health care professionals of North York General Hospital.
