Katherine Anderson

Peacefully at home with her daughters by her side, Kathy passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at age 56 following a difficult illness borne with hope and courage. The cherished youngest child of Maria and the late Frank (2002) Jan, Kathy is the devoted and beloved mother of Julie, Emma, Elizabeth and Dealia Anderson, and dear sister of Vladimir (Sharon) Jan, Mike (Vida) Jan, and Elizabeth (Herbert) Hartmann. Kathy will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her nieces and nephews in the Anderson, Hartmann and Jan families, by her aunts, uncles and cousins in Canada, the U.S. and Slovenia, and by Dr. Thomas Anderson, father of her daughters. Kathy was born and raised in Toronto where she graduated from St. Joseph's College School and U. of T. Following her marriage in 1981, Kathy was soon the mother of four beautiful daughters whom she lovingly nurtured and guided through their formative years to become the vibrant and accomplished young ladies they are today. Kathy was taken from us far too soon and is deeply missed, but her gentle spirit will live on in our treasured memories of her quiet strength, her joy for life and her enduring love and devotion to her family. Visitation at R.S. Kane Funeral Home, (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles) from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 19.

Funeral mass at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 3220 Bayview Avenue (north of Finch) at 10:00 a.m.on Friday, July 20, followed by interment at Mount Hope Cemetery. Donations in Kathy's memory to the North York General Hospital - Volunteer Services, or to Dom Lipa (Slovenian Linden Foundation) would be appreciated by the family. May she rest in peace with God.
