On February 20, 2015, we lost the man with a heart of gold and a big smile. Larry (Lawrence Gordon) DeFlorio passed away at the young age of 55, peacefully in the arms of his loving and devoted wife Anna Kalika, after a bravely fought battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents Marie Gismondi (nee Petrillo) and Gordon DeFlorio. Survived by his mother-in-law Sonia Kalika and father-in-law Michael Kalika, older siblings - sisters Louise Iannaci (Benny) and Denise DeFlorio, brother Patrick Gismondi (Linda), and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Larry will always be loved, remembered and greatly missed by his wife, family and many-many friends for his generous heart, wit, big smile, brilliant mind, vision, leadership, being able to see potential in everybody and everything around him, helping so many with their lives and careers by being a teacher, friend and mentor. And most of all, for his unconditional love of Anna, and his trademark - unmatched ability to make people laugh.
"Live your life with love and laughter, today and every day. I love you all." - Larry D.
Visitation will take place on Monday, February 23, 4 - 8 p.m. at the R. S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street (at Goulding, south of Steeles). Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday, February 24, 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 3220 Bayview Avenue (Bayview and Finch).
