

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Laurence (Larry) Meehan on May 20, 2014. Beloved husband of Georgette. Loving father of Sharon and Shawn and his wife Sharon. Proud Papa to Laura, Matthew and Alec. Son of the late Johanna and Laurence Meehan. Predeceased by his sisters Margaret and Alice and by his brothers William, John and Patrick (survived by Paula) and Michael (survived by Beryl). Survived by his sisters Bernadette (Louis) and May (Tom). Brother-in-law to Theresa Flowerday, Diane and the late Robert Giroux, Claudette and the late George Gravelle, Robert and Lilian Gravelle, Richard and Shirley Gravelle. Son-in-law to the late Simone and Leo Gravelle. Survived by his many nieces and nephews.
Larry was born May 14, 1935 in Clonea, County of Waterford, Ireland. He immigrated to Canada in 1957 and worked his way from B.C. to Ontario where he settled in Toronto and established OLAR LIMITED in 1975. He has earned the respect of his employees and clients due to his work ethic and attention to detail. He volunteered many hours helping establish Home Again and Montage Support Services also serving as a board member. Larry enjoyed many rounds of golf and time spent with Georgette wintering in Florida during his retirement. Larry was an inspiration to many battling cancer this past year.
Family and friends may visit at R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge St. (at Goulding south of Steeles) on Sunday, May 25, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral service in the chapel on Monday, May 26, 2014 at 11am, with visitation from 10am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
