Lorraine Denby

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Mom/Grandma in her 96th year at Georgetown Hospital on Saturday, September 24, 2011 after a short illness.

Beloved wife of the late Lorne. She was cherished by son Dan and his wife Sandra of Scugog, son John and his wife Nancy of Oakville and daughter Irene and her husband Ron Birrell of Acton. She will be lovingly missed by her grandchildren Kim, Tracey, Megan, Dan, Kristi, David, Mike, Katie, Shannon, Jamie and Jeff, 21 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She loved you all so much. Lorraine was a longtime resident of Thornhill and a lifelong member of Thornhill United Church.

Friends may call on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2011 Thornhill United Church (25 Elgin Street). As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Thornhill United Church or a charity of your choice.
