Peacefully, surrounded by love on Saturday February 16 at the age of 91. Beloved mother of John (Catherine) and Jennifer, loving grandmother to Ben, Elisabeth, Thea, and Antonia. Pre-deceased by Jack, her husband of 39 years and her sister Lillian. A woman of deep faith, Madge was generous, honest and open minded to the end. She will be greatly missed by her extended family and by many, many people of all ages to whom she was a true friend. Good-humoured, capable, independent, and decisive, Madge had that special quality known as moxie. Ever curious, she embraced the internet in her 80's. She will be remembered for her creativity, optimism, and personal elegance. Madge lived a very full life: wife, mother, youth leader, professional couturier, entrepreneur, surrogate-mother-to-many, hostess, traveler, piano student, calligrapher, teacher, and above all, friend. She died as she lived, with grace and beauty. The family are deeply grateful to the staff of Cummer Lodge for their kindness during her last days. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Madge's life at 1pm, Saturday February 23, 2008 at The Donalda Club. In lieu of flowers, Madge would have appreciated donations to Out Of The Cold. Arrangements entrusted to R. S. Kane Funeral Home.
