

At age 62, Margaret Weir passed away peacefully at her home in Thornhill with her family by her side on September 21, 2014 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Brockville and raised in Kingston, Margie went on to study English literature at Queen's University, where she met her husband Bob. She became a kindergarten teacher in the TCDSB, and was loved by students, parents, and colleagues alike. Since her retirement in 2009 she had more time for gardening, golf, travel, writing, reading, and enjoying the company of friends and family. Predeceased by her parents Tom and Kay Monahan and brother John, Margie is lovingly remembered by her husband Bob, children Cameron and Alexandra, son-in-law Farron, brothers Tom and Mike, sisters-in-law Cindy and Janine, nephews Peter, Brendan, Ryan and Sean, and niece Laura. The visitation will be held on Friday, Sept 26 from 6 to 9pm at R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street, Toronto. The funeral will take place on Saturday, Sept 27 at 10:30am at St. Gabriel's Passionist Parish, 670 Sheppard Avenue East, Toronto. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Pancreatic Cancer Canada.
