Marinella Anna Frescura

Peacefully, at Hill House Hospice (Richmond Hill) surrounded by her family on May 27, 2010. Remembered for her strength of spirit, resilience, and sense of adventure, Marina was always looking forward to the next opportunity to discover and learn. Predeceased by her husband Dr. Gianni Frescura, she will be missed by her children Luisa, Anna-Maria (Neil), Paolo (Natalia), Alessandro (Rose), by her sister-in-law Bruna Nuti, and by her many family and friends in Italy, Colombia and France. A faculty member in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics at York University since 1976, Dr. Marina Frescura is fondly remembered by colleagues and students. Sincere thanks go to Dr. Steven Reingold and his dedicated team of nurses of Brampton Civic Hospital for their excellent care. Friends may call on Sunday, May 30, 2010 from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 31, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Roman Catholic Church (3220 Bayview Avenue). Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Hill House Hospice or Canadian Cancer Society.
