It is with deep sadness that we announce that on September 23, 2016, Mario Pompeo Morelli, peacefully passed away in his home at the age of 69 after a long and challenging battle with cancer. His ever-caring wife, Florina, two daughters, Milena and Valerie, and his grandson Matteo will lovingly remember him.
Mario will always be remembered for his strength, perseverance, and passion for life. Mario was a lifelong learner, true handyman, dedicated husband, father and grandfather, and ever-faithful servant to God. Unwaveringly devoted to the Catholic Faith, as a volunteer and member of The Knights of Columbus, Mario was a well-respected Fourth Degree Past Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator, and promoted District Deputy. Although his time on earth with us has come to an end, his lessons on love, kindness, generosity, and selflessness will continue to live on through the lives of everyone he crossed paths with.
The visitation will be held at the R. S. Kane Funeral Home, located at 6150 Yonge Street on Thursday September 29, 2016 from 3 to 5pm, and 7 to 9pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Trinity Parish located at 3220 Bayview Avenue on Friday September 30, 2016 at 10am.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the following for the outstanding care and support that they provided to Mario and his family: Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, North York General Hospital, the many caring Doctors and Nurses, Community Care Access Centre (C.C.A.C.), S.R.T. Med-Staff, Better Living Health and Community Services, Personal Support Workers, and Blessed Trinity Parish Clergy and Volunteers.
