Marlene Anne Baker

June 9, 1933 – April 24, 2025

Marlene Baker, Born June 9, 1933, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025 at 91 years of age, with family by her side. Predeceased by her spouse Bill and her parents (Harry and Margarite Scott). Loving mother to William Baker & Cathy (Ron) Trewin. Beloved grandmother to Meaghan, Allison and Jennifer and great-grandmother to Parker and Georgia.

Marlene was born in and spent her youth in Windsor, Ontario. She graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1954 from Grace Hospital in Windsor. She loved to regale stories from her youth, life-long friends, and spending summers at her grandparent’s farm in Palmyra, Ontario.

As a recent graduate nurse, Marlene worked at a hospital in Detroit, Michigan and the Ford Automobile Plant in Windsor where she met her Bill. Following a move to the Toronto area and settling in Thornhill, Ontario, Marlene worked at York Central Hospital (MacKenzie Health) and Bloorview Children’s Hospital until her retirement.

Marlene enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Thornhill Golf and Country Club for many years. She was passionate about card games, mainly bridge, which she played throughout her adult life. Marlene was fortunate to travel to numerous parts of the world including Europe, the Caribbean, Alaska, Bermuda and Florida.
