COOK, Martha Cornelia (nee Bos) - At York Central Hospital on July 15, 2011 in her 87th year. She was a devoted wife for over 65 years to Gerald Cook and mother to John (Kathryn), Dunchurch, ON, Joseph (Lylynn), Toronto, ON, Joyce (Willem) Kogeler, columbus, ON and Ellen (Michael) Brunette, Roanoke, VA. Dear grandmother of Christopher Cook, Julianne Marie, Amy Granger, Christine Cook, Danielle Niday, Alex Kogelar; and great-grandmother of Nicholas, Noah and Caroline. Sister of Bernard Bos, Chicago, IL; Corrie vanVorst, Annie Boven and Ida Bosman of the Netherlands. Born in Wagenborgen, Netherlands on August 12, 1924, Martha immigrated to North America in 1951 with her husband and two small boys; she lived briefly in Chicago, IL, Grand Rapids, MI, and in 1952 settled in Toronto. She was a dedicated stay-at-home Mom who raised four children, loved to garden and was active in her church and community. She was always willing to help others at a moment's notice and expected nothing in return. As a result she was loved dearly by her family, friends and all who knew her. Her family thanks Dr. Janet Morse for her years of loving care and Dr. Roy Blachowitz for his help in her final days. A Celebration of Martha's Life will be held at the Jerrett Funeral Home-Vaughan Chapel, 8088 Yonge Street (south of Hwy. 407) on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 11 a.m. with visiting one hour prior. Memorial contributions may be made in Martha's honour to the Thornhill Presbyterian Church as your expression of sympathy. Online condolences may be made at www.jerrettfuneralhomes.com
