Julie and Family, We are thinking of you and we're sorry we can't make it to the funeral. Dad was planning on coming to the funeral but Diana broke her arm at the cottage so he is going up to help her. Dad told me you had a great visit a while ago. I hope you are well. Dear Neil, Julie and Glenn, Craig and I were so sorry to hear about your dad's passing away. What a great guy he was. The last time we saw him was at our mom's funeral in June of last year. Did you know that your dad was our dad's best man at our parents' wedding and our dad was your dad's best man as well. They shared many jokes and happy moments and were very dear friends. Julie, Glenn and Neil, although it has been many many years since I last saw you guys, I have heard though my Mom all about your lives, she has kept me in the loop .. Your parents were always great friends to my Mom and Dad (Norma and Gordon Wilcox) and will always be remembered by our family. Many a dinner party at your parents and my parents homes for many many years. Glenn & Family, I received a note from my Mom informing me of the passing of your Dad. I am sorry to hear of your loss and hope the pain of the loss quickly retreats and the good memories of his life last. I do remember your Dad (& Mom) very well from our days on Newtonbrook Hardware Mites and your Dad being one of the coaches to the many times visiting your house on way to or from the tennis courts. It was always clear to us who had the opportunity to see your family, how much he loved you. Pam remembers his faithful Saturday visits to Nana in Markham. He was a real pleasure to be around - and had a wonderful sense of humour too - he could laugh at himself too. Dear Neil, Julie And Glenn, Our sincere condolences. Our thoughts and prayers are with you guys at this difficult time. I have so many memories of your dad and all of them put a smile on my face. At our family Christmas's, You guy's would have us all in stitches with the ribbing that would go on back and forth between you and your dad. I remember us going to your place a number of times for a swim, your dad loved the pool and sharing it. The big thing I remember about your dad was his faithfulness in visiting Nana almost every weekend at Mom & Dads in Markham. I remember hearing the laughter coming from Nana's room as the conversations between Nana and Uncle Maurice always turned to politics and their "love" of certain Prime Ministers, (Happy "Birday" Canada). Although our families have not seen much of each other over the years, it's memories like that, that help to give you the peace and the smile in the days ahead.

Mac Maclean and I had a wonderful relationship for many years. I can’t imagine how many hours that I spent laughing with Mac and his family at that kitchen table. I have a vivid memory of him in the back yard with a Chocolate Labrador named Drake. This very fit and strong dog was removing the solar cover from the swimming pool with his teeth. Moey wasn’t achieving the task at hand because he couldn’t control his laughter. I am visioning today that Moey has already finished 18 holes with his buddies from his 6:30 AM Tee Time. He is sitting once again in the kitchen reading the daily newspaper and making a comment about Lovey being at the window! Mac had a wonderful view of life from that other side of the golf ball.
