Michael McCahery

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Michael McCahery (77) of Toronto, ON. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and children. Michael enjoyed a long and distinguished career with Canadian Airlines as an airline Captain. In addition to his love of flight he loved to spend his leisure time at his cottage in Muskoka. Mike was preceded in death by his first wife Joy McCahery. He will be sadly missed and is survived by his current wife Carmelita McCahery, his son Shaun McCahery, his daughter Erin McCahery and her husband Michael Groulx and his grandchildren Liam and Danielle Groulx. Dear brother to Colleen, Moira, Charlie, Arthur and predeceased by Bobby, Sheila and Theresa. A special thank you to Dr. Kirshen, the homecare nurses from the order of St. Elizabeth and to Dr. Czarnota from the Odette Cancer Centre for their care and support.

Visitation will take place at R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles) on Friday June 7, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday June 8 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Timothy's Catholic Church located at 21 Leith Hill Road. He will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
