Dear Zeena, Jonathan & family. It will be a year (May 31/13) since Nelson's passing. May God continue to give you both strength, courage and comfort in your hearts and in your lives during this difficult and never forgotten time and as the days go by. Nelson was the first "outsider" hired by owner Kelly Klerer at the beginning of Harkel Office furniture in approx 1983. With Nelson's infectious smile and quiet sense of humour, he soon became part of the family. Even after Nelson left Harkel, we were in contact for a while and hardly a week went by, when his name was not mentioned in our conversations. We remember how happy he was when his love, Zeena joined him in Canada and the amount of joy when Jonathan was born. Both Zeena and Jonathan completed his life and gave Nelson the love and pride he deserved. We were sorry to hear of his passing and our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sorrowful time.

Nelson had a passion and a discerning eye for art and artistry was something that always stayed with Nelson. Even his garden reflected his touch. Nelson always had a positive outlook towards life. He always dismissed his ailings and was always getting ready to beat what ever was getting him down and get back to work. Nelson has been a great dad to Jonathan which is clearly evident in the fine young man he is today. I know that it will be very difficult for Zeena and Jonathan and all of us without Nelson in our lives. But I am sure Nelson would not want us to be engulfed in sadness. He would want us to celebrate his life and all that he has experienced during his time here with us. Being the positive person Nelson was he has left behind his legacy of always having that get up and go in the face of any adversary.

Nelson, I am so sorry to lose you as a friend but will always treasure the great memories. You were the best.

Uncle Nelson, though I didn't spend much time with you, the time I did was special...almost magical. You were special to dad, and therefore to me as well! You will be missed dearly, and remembered with much fondness! Zeena, and Jonathan, my deepest sympathies are with you in your time of loss.

Dearest Zeena & Jonathan, Our sincere heartfelt condolences on the passing away of Uncle Nelson. We still remember our early days in Toronto when he visited us and spent time with us almost every fortnight.He would play with the kids and help in building things with Kennex which probably brought up memories of Jonathan's childhood to him. He was a great guy with a good sense of humour and positive mindset.Happy go lucky inspite of all his health issues.Yes Zeena as you said whenever we hear the word " Honey " it brings back memories of him as that is what he always called you.The memory that we hold most and would like to remember him is the way he danced at Mum & Dad's golden wedding teaching all of us a lesson to live life to the fullest no matter what. We knew each other when we were very young, and I always admired your quiet disposition, sense of humor, and your talents as a remarkable artist! Reading all the tributes to you, I never knew that you went on to becoming a culinary and horticultural artist as well! Your suffering is over and now the good Lord has welcomed you with open arms to tend to His garden.

I pray that your dear wife Zeena and son Jonathan find the courage and strength to carry on without you. It is a hard road to travel - I lost my dear husband Yorrick 10 years ago and there's not a day I don't think about him and miss Him. However, it is our faith that pulls us through - Faith, Family and Friends work wonders for us.

Dearest Uncle Nelson, Adios! You were a fighter right to the end….your strength and courage were amazing and we all have a lesson to learn from you…your positive outlook to life and your determination to go on in spite of your illness. Even the day before you passed away when we spoke you told me that you would get better and go home…but I’m sure God had better plans for you! You are now in a better place. Words do an injustice in explaining how much we will miss you Nelson. Meeting you first time in furniture shop when I and Rashmiben came for shopping office furniture and becoming friends, you telling us your and Zeena’s love story, your wedding party in Bombay, our days together at 711 Finch West and our walk to Methi garden, camping trips, fishing, chilled Molson Blue, our fight to stop you smoking, and so on….
