I contacted my son, Brian Colville via facebook to tell him of Phyl's death.  Here is our conversation:



	Brian:  "it's upsetting....she was a nice lady.  Well, she's in heaven with Grandma shopping now.  Grandma will be happy to see her".



	Deb:  "Yes, you got that right...they are taking part in the Bay Scratch-and-Save.  Grandma is spending her income tax refund (again and again...) and Phyl is driving her"....we all have such fond memories. ---Deb Colville (nee Wilson)

Phyl was very social!  I had SO much fun swimming in her pool as a child.  I also remember how nice her condo was. ------James  Colville

First off, my condolences to everyone. 



	I always remember visiting my grandparent's when I was little and always wanting to go swimming in Aunt Phyl and Uncle Buds' pool next door.  Even if going for a swim meant being chased by the Chow Chow dog Bear who fell in the pool sometimes. 



	I also enjoyed driving to Yorkdale with Phyl and my Grandma to go shopping and eat.

I met Phyllis in 1952 and we became real good friends over the next 61 years.  We worked together at International Surveys.  I left in 1967 but I saw Phyllis every year wherever my nomadic life took me to.  There was Bala, Clinton and finally back to Toronto.  During all that time we always met for lunch, weekends and never lost contact.  Phyllis had a heart of gold and if you didn't see her for a few months, when you met, it was as if we never parted.  Just the last couple of years we lost contact due to our bad health.  Angie and Wayne were a large part of our get-together's.  Many great gatherings at Christmas time.  You will be missed Phyllis. I have known Phyl since I was 18 years old and going out with Deb ( her next store neighbour ).  I loved how she always had time to listen to what I had to say; even if she didn't agree with me at least she would listen.   We had some great discussions.   As a young man this was important to me.  Some of my best memories are of all the times on the sun-deck where I met her many unique friends and family.



	The Christmas parties were also something to look forward to every year.  She really knew how to throw a party.

The O'Hanley's were our next door neighbours on Appletree Court from when I was a young child (5 years old) until I married (age 21).  They were like family!  I have so many fond memories.



	     As I think back, Phyl was one of the few women in the 1950's who had a career (and a cleaning lady).  She LOVED her job, home, family, friends, people and she loved the colour 'blue'.



	     I sometimes stayed overnight in her spare room.  The bed had a black metal headboard and a crinkly quilt.  I had the best sleeps in that bed!  Phyl also loved her cats (Peter and Schultz).  There was always a dish of soft cat food at her front door to feed strays.



	    She told great stories about her childhood (amazing that she had the time to tell those stories) and repeated them when asked.  I am so grateful that Phyl, her family and friends were such a big part of my life.  Wayne, Angie, Terry.....thinking of you.  Love always, deb colville

With Phyllis' passing, we have all lost one very special lady. Phyllis had this wonderful and unique way with people. She loved people, loved talking to them, finding out how they ticked or what issues they had. She was always empathetic and conducted all conversations in a quiet and calm way with a memorable smile. She was genuinely interested in helping people whenever she could. When Kate and I and the girls came to Toronto to join ISL in 1976, Phyllis worked so hard to ensure that we quickly settled down. As a result, it was not long before we felt very much part of the "family". Our deepest sympathy goes to Wayne, Angie and Terry at this sad time. We wish there was something that we could do to ease the pain, but we know there is nothing anyone can say or do. There is a void in the family, but fortunately no one can ever erase all of the beautiful memories that you and all of us have of Phyllis. It was a privilege to have known Phyllis and an honour to have been able to say that we were amongst her friends. We will miss this very special lady. Rest in peace. David and Kate

I worked with Phyllis for over 20 years from the time I arrived in Canada in 1965. She was wonderful, a real people person who always found time to providel help and advice (invariably good).  I know she helped me many times, fresh off the boat as I was.



	She exemplified the perfect person for the time, professional and hard working but never losing sight of the really important personal relationships. I don't think there was one employee who was not the recipient of her help, whether business or personal, often both



	I lost track of her after leaving the company, just heard various bits from others over the years. However, she was one of the people I worked with that still comes into my thoughts from time to time. I offer my condolences to her family as I'm sure she will be greatly missed.
