On July 2, 2006, en route to her favourite summer vacation spot in Florida, our dear little Becky lost her life in a fatal car accident. She was traveling in happiness with her loving Mom Dawn and devoted Step-dad Nigel, who were also her very best friends.
From an early age, Rebecca developed as a spunky, witty and creative character who constantly surprised and charmed everyone. Yet she also possessed compassion and sensitivity well beyond her eleven years.
During this past year, Becky was proud to be recognized as "a valued member" of her school's track and field team. She participated in a regional track meet at York University, where her relay team placed third.
Apart from her interest in sports, she was an accomplished artist and was planning to attend Cardinal Carter School for the Arts.
One of our favourite memories is of Becky singing "Reflections" with her dear friends Felicity and Genny in their school's talent show. She was always quick to pick up a melody, and together the three pals sounded like little angels.
Rebecca Hope is survived by her mother Dawn and stepfather Nigel; 'Nan and Pop' Mary and Doug; Auntie Cheryl, Uncle Fred and cousin Cayla; Uncle Brian and Auntie Janet; and Uncle Chris. Her sweet memory will remain strong with all of us forever.
Friends may call on Sunday from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street, (at Goulding, south of Steeles). Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Edward the Confessor Roman Catholic Church, 75 Churchill Ave, on Monday July 10th, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at York Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, charitable donations can be made to www.wolvesontario.org in Becky's memory.
