Renee Lynda Waltman

Renee will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by many, notably her spouse Nathan, her step-daughter, Alyson and Elizabeth, her siblings Brenda and Quentin, her 60 and me friend group whom she adored, her friend who was like a sister to her, Carolyn, her close friends Megan, Janet, Himadri, her dear friend and singing companion, Andrey, her life long friend of over 50 years, Irene, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many other friends and colleagues she connected with throughout her life.

Renee is now reunited with Fran Daniels, with whom she shared a very special bond, as surrogate mother and daughter.

Renee was a beautiful and intelligent woman with many passions and interests! She loved her garden, music, books, cooking, knitting, needle point and crocheting, the joy of Christmas, the Smule App for singing, soaking up the sun in her wading pool, she loved her tricycle, jogging, long walks, quality time with friends and family and of course her darling Nathan.

Renee was a lifelong learner who truly enjoyed her education at Glendon College, where she obtained a BA in Criminology. She also attended the University of Toronto, where she achieved a Masters in Criminology and Queen's University, where she completed a 2nd Masters Degree in Policy Studies.

Renee thrived in her career at Corrections Canada, where she spent over 20 years as a Parole Officer, Parole Supervisor and Director of the Women’s Unit. Previous to her career, Renee also enjoyed working nights at Child Services while in University and spent several years as a teaching assistant at UoIT in Oshawa, as well as many happy days surrounded by music working at Sam the Record man, on Yonge Street in downtown Toronto.

Renee’s journey on Earth is complete but her spirit lives on in so many ways, her light will continue to shine and her memory will always be a blessing to all who knew her.

A visitation will occur Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 2:00pm - 3:30pm at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes - Thornhill (8088 Yonge Street). A memorial service will follow at 3:30pm.
