1931-2014
A man with a gift for friendship and love has left us with great memories and good hope. Bob Gaudet died in peace in the early morning of November 7, 2014. He was encircled by love during his brief struggle with cancer. He is predeceased by his mother, father and sisters Rita and Pauline, always proud of his Acadian heritage. He is survived by his wife Odilie (Solis) and by many nieces and nephews. A member of the Society of Jesus for several years, he is remembered as a warm and engaging campus minister at Concordia University, Montreal and as the Director of Canadian Jesuits International. He made many friends in Canada and throughout the world and kept in touch with each one in a personal way. He had a great and wide heart. He married Odilie (Solis), the love of his life, and together they shared 24 years of their lives. In 1990 Bob was appointed a member of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, on which he served for twenty years. He became a much respected senior member of the Board and was given the responsibility of mentoring new members of the IRB.
