“An Officer and a Gentleman”

Jim passed away on Sunday, January 10th, 2016 in his 99th year. Respected and much loved father of Michael (Janet Kent) and Perry. Beloved “Opi” of David (Heather Hale) – and great-grandchildren Lily and Cedar; of Marla (Eric Harding) – and great-grandchild Juniper; of Nicole, Christopher and Marlise. His family was everything to Jim, but first, and always foremost, there was the love of his life, his “Darling” Dori, his cherished wife of 70 years. They met in Germany in 1945 and their love lasted until the very end when they were together with their sons, Michael and Perry.

Jim was an honoured Paul Harris Fellow from the Rotary Club of Kitchener-Conestoga for his distinguished wartime service.

The last 2 ½ years of his long life were spent in the Veterans Wing (L) at Sunnybrook where he was well looked after by a very caring and respectful staff.

Cremation has taken place through the kind services of R.S. Kane Funeral Home. There will be a “Celebration of Life” held in March to commemorate a “Life Well Lived”.
