My sympathies to dear Mary, and to the children, grand-children and great grandchildren of Roman Goralski. What an accomplishment to have lived so fully, seen so much, been a good family man and a neighbourhood friend, while retaining a spiritual calm throughout.

Year after year and based on his early knowledge of farming in his native Poland, Roman created a micro-farm on his property. And what a micro-farm! -- a riotous symphony of colours and shapes and directions, as he combined flowers and vegetables alike, even thinking about the welfare of small birds by making sure they would have sunflower heads to peck at, before the cold weather set in. 
 
Roman was a walker, as was Mary. And the daily example set helped me through early health difficulties. Also welcomed were our many conversations, which touched upon experiences during the War. With a need to know more, I set out to explore the Polish countryside. These journeys of 2007 and 2008 included a side trip to Purgałki and its nearby forest, where I looked for landmarks mentioned by Roman, the sum of my memories which I then shared with my dear next-door neighbours.

Roman and Mary were also willing and wonderful subjects for my portrait photography, and I delighted in sharing the prints with them and their family.
 
Seasons turn ... When the opportunity arose to move to London, ON, I was sorry to leave my dear neighbours. Months later, I was a few blocks away from making a return visit. But a rogue driver of a TTC express bus smashed my driver's side and removed for long my confidence in driving. As a result, I only made one other visit, in 2012, I think, finding many changes. But I never forgot about the core, noble qualities of Roman and Mary. Nor will I ever, as Roman now becomes chief gardener of Heaven. 

My condolences to all Roman family, and friends:
Roman was the most kind and caring man around.
Roman loved life and specially all his flowers, gardening, and his apple tree at the front of his house.
Roman loved everyone in his neighbourhood.
Specially sitting outside all day long in the summer time with his wife Mary or some of his family and many neighbours just talking about the good old days or singing. Or just watching the world go bye.
"Wow" Roman had more then a "Green Thumb" that's for sure for gardening and all his flowers.
Roman thanks for making all are gardens and flowers "Smile" and be so "Happy" year after year.
Our neighbourhood will never be the same again without Roman in it.
Thanks Roman for being a good neighbour and friend for so long. Roman almost made it to his 100 year "Wow"
I known that for one thing that Heavens Gardens and Flowers are a lot more beautiful yesterday and today thanks to our good friend and neighbour Roman and his "Amazing Green Thumbs"
The neighbourhood is all missing Roman already. It will never be the same again!!!

Both Carole and I would like to extend our deepest condolences in the passing of Maureen's father. We all realize that death is enviable, however the life they gave us in large measure allows our sorrow to be stayed in their memory that will always remain with us.

I was saddened to hear of the death of Mr. Goralski.I have many happy memories of him and his particlular smile.When I was young He let me plant a vegetable garden at 33 Boultbee, Toronto.May was always cheery and always beaming. Thank you and thanks for your service in the airforce

Sheila  Sorry to hear about your dad I meet him once he was a very nice fellow. I am sure he will be sadly missed. My sympathy to all your family .

An incredible life well lived, he would have worn out an ifit with all the distance he covered. We will miss his generosity and presence in the neighbourhood. We pray the love of God enfolds you during your journey through grief.
