Abu Samra - Our Brother, Our Best Friend

We cannot express the sadness and loss we feel inside. You have been the brother we've never had, our closest friend and have been part of our lives since childhood. We will miss you terribly and will always remember the great times we shared. Definitely you are in a better place Samer amongst many of your loved ones. RIP

I was very sad to hear of the passing of our lovely neighbour Samer. I enjoyed many conversations with Samer, mostly about our children--him remembering fondly when his own children were very young. You will be missed Samer. My sincerest condolences to his family--most especially his mother who  was obviously very dedicated to caring for him and his lovely children who I often saw visiting him.

I am so sorry for the sad loss of our dear Samer. My deepest condolences go to the Haddad family and friends of Samer. He was a happy, caring and loving person and we will always remember him this way. May his soul rest in peace.

You generated smiles and laughter in all those who were fortunate to know you.  Like the morning sunrise illuminating a darkened room - you made your presence felt in so may positive ways.  I consider myself fortunate to have met Samer back in 1998 in Toronto and although I only had limited interactions with him since (from a distance here in Ottawa) I can still see his smile and hear his jokes !  You will be missed my fiend.

Dear Haddads,
We are thinking of all of you and sharing in your loss with heavy hearts.  Samer brightened our spirits often, making us laugh and feel like family from the first time we met him.  My fondest memory of him is the Christmas he spent with us and the laughter we shared when Santa visited and Samer entertained us all with his quick humorous asides.  He also helped to make Lisa and George's wedding such a fun time!   Please hug Auntie Samira and tell her Samer will not be forgotten and we will always be thankful that we were fortunate to share special times with him and your family.  Frances sends her love and condolences to all of you also--and especially to Samira, her good friend.  She understands your loss and though can not be with you now, she is in spirit and will remain in touch often.
 

Samer, it’ll be 17 years in May since you and Colm interviewed me for CIBC.  I wasn’t sure what I had gotten myself into having the two of you run the job interview like a Saturday Night Live skit, I guess I fit in.  Little did I know you “Samer the Hamer” would then educate and entertain me for 3 weeks at King City during ISDP,…good times.  

You were an extremely important role model to me in a very memorable period in my life, thank you. You will surely be missed.

So sorry for your loss, Samer was always a gentleman and a kind man, he will be missed

Rest in peace Samer. I will always remember you. You may have unknowingly influenced a very positive change in my career. You offered me my very first paid assignment back in 1984 in Kuwait! Thank you for the good times.
