Died peacefully in the Sisters of St. Joseph's Infirmary on Monday evening, August 17, 2009.
Helen entered the Community in 1949 as a Registered Nurse. Following 20 years as Nursing Supervisor, at both St. Michael's and St. Joseph's hospitals, Toronto. Sister Helen ministered in Sierra Leone, Africa for five years. She was Coordinator of Volunteer Services with the CNIB, for many years.
Helen is pre-deceased by her parents, John and Lillian, her sisters Eileen and Sister Claire, C.S.J., and her brother William. Helen is survived by her sister Ruth, brother John, and many members of her extended family.
The wake will begin at 4 pm, Thursday, August 20, 2009 at St. Joseph's Morrow Park (3377 Bayview Avenue) followed by a prayer service at 7:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Friday, August 21, 2009 at St. Joseph's Morrow Park. Interment to follow at Holy Cross.
