

Mr. Kim Tae-Hwan, age 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at North York General Hospital in Toronto. He was born December 22, 1941, in Gangwon-do, South Korea, to Kim Dong-Hyup and Hahm Jong-Ok. He graduated with top honours at Kwandong University and Eastern Korea Christian College. He married Kwon Oksun on September 18, 1976, in Toronto. In 1969, he worked at Daelim Industrial Co., Ltd. for seven years in the position of Assistant Manager in the Overseas Construction Department with a 3-year service in Thailand for highway construction. In Toronto, he worked dutifully at Webcom Inc. for 20 years. Mr. Kim loved reading, taking long walks in nature, and was devoted to his family. He was a good, gentle and hard-working man. A humble and elegant man of few words.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Oksun; 2 daughters, Laura and May; 5 brothers, Kim Eung-Hwan, Kim Jung-Hwan, Kim Jang-Hwan, Kim Kyung-Hwan, Kim Myung-Hwan; 2 sisters, Kim Jung-Sook and Kim Eun-Sook; and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind 3 dear grandchildren, Valentina, Mason and Esmé. Family, friends, and others whose lives Mr. Kim touched are invited to the viewing at R.S. KANE FUNERAL HOME, 6150 Yonge Street, Toronto, from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 between 10:30 a.m-12:30 p.m. at Young Nak Korean Presbyterian Church of Toronto followed by the interment at Elgin Mills Cemetery.
