Some wonderful words have been shared about my Auntie Thyla: a catalyst, a rock, a fierce mother to blood and beyond. She was the eldest sister of 10 and helped raise the youngest five. Then she married Pastor Victor Munro and they went on to raise five children that are like siblings to me. They even took my brother and I in for a time when we first moved from Calgary. She had 85 years of life and love.

I was always awestruck by the thought of her moving family in 1968 from Guyana to Geraldton, 1200 km north of Toronto. Of raising her family and supporting my uncle Vic. Of fellowship and kindness and a sly sense of humor.

We come together and honour a woman who cared about us all. Thank you for that.

My Aunty Thyla eminated kindness love and compassion. She will be dearly missed and is now watching overall of us.

The news of the loss of your mother (grandmother) is heartbreaking. Please know that you are in our thoughts and that there is boundless love and prayer  being offered for your family. 

You have so much to be proud of in your mother's life. As the next few weeks pass, we are hopeful that the many lovely memories you have of Thylamay will bring you peace and comfort.

God grant you peace! The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

A lot will be said of the good times from back home in Guyana. Especially in Berbice.

We always remember that you were the bridesmaid at our parents wedding.

Even though she had gotten on in age, her passing represents the loss of your mother and the closing chapter in the life of a good woman who had partnered with your dad in the raising of 4 fine sons while contributing to the spiritual well-being of many along the way.

Please accept my sincere condolence over your loss and remember the good times which you all shared as a family. Due to a severe cold I will remain indoors for the next few days and will not able in a position to visit with you and say goodbye to Thylamay.

It is with sadness we learnt of our dearest, very loving and beautiful, eldest cousin's death.
Growing up we looked to her, and learnt from her precepts and her wisdom.
We now have to cherish those precious memories of Sis.
