Billie always had a smile to share and a kind word to give. Most of the time reminding you how beautiful you are. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness to everyone she touched. Those who have known her felt her unconditional love. We all should work to leave an impression with those who cross our path, the way mom did.
Her last years were spent at Avamere Transitional Care in Northglenn CO, where she happily greeted everyone who entered the facility. It makes your heart smile to hear all the kind things that everyone including staff and her Dr have said about her.
Billie was born in Quail, Texas to William Marlin and Amanda Maude Daves. She was the youngest of 12 children. Her family moved to Colorado when she was young. She graduated from Cortez High school as the Valedictorian of her class. The majority of her work history consisted of retail sales or office work.
She married John L Sparks on October 3, 1975. They were together until he passed away on May 7, 2006. They lived in Arizona for most of their marriage. Mom always talked of returning to Arizona, yet her health prevented her from doing so.
Billie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Dana Spruell, grandson Shawn Bailey, son-in-law Lane Bailey. Three days before Billie passed, she stated she wanted to see her son Dana. Billie passed on the same day in April as Dana did in 1978. She leaves behind two daughters, Donna Bailey, her children Rewa (Kim) Bailey, Micah Bailey and their children. Her daughter Vanessa (Dale) Ruggles, her daughter Sharlee (Ryan) Passey and their children. Also, her stepchildren Linda Robinson, Mike (Melissa) Sparks, Tim (Tana) Sparks and their families.
In loving memory of our mother, the most amazing woman we have ever known. We recently celebrated her 90th birthday.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, we know Billie would want all of us to spread kindness.
