

Surrounded by her loved ones, Casimirita Marie Dean passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 25, 2019. Casimirita is survived by her five children: Roger Vigil, Randy Vigil (Gloria Duran), Sammy Alexander Dean III (Starla Evey), Abigail Pfeiffer (Alfred Pfeiffer) and Kenneth Dean. Additional survivors include 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, as well as her dear sisters, Mary Sena and Sylvia Archuleta.
Casimirita was a kind, loving and strong woman who was devoted to her faith, her family and her friends. She was an amazing cook who loved to garden. She was also a gentle healer and selfless in all she did. She will be dearly missed. Casimirita was born on February 6, 1934, in Mora, New Mexico, and she passed away on May 25, 2019, in Commerce City, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Sam Tapia Dean, her parents, Juan and Florinda Ortega, her daughter Mary Florence Vigil, and her siblings Pablo Ortega, Rebecca Aerts, Joe Ortega, Evelyn Ortega and Joanne Gallegos.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019, at Our Lady Mother of the Church (6690 E. 72nd Avenue, Commerce City, CO 80022) with viewing starting at 4:30 p.m. followed by a rosary and mass at 5 p.m.
Family and friends are invited to join Casimirita’s children and grandchildren for burial at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. Attendees are encouraged to arrive by 8:45 a.m. at Staging Area A to navigate the cemetery. Following the burial, a celebration of life reception will be held at El Jardin Mexican Restaurant (6460 E. 73rd Avenue, Commerce City, CO 80022) beginning at 11 a.m.
