Celia Cobos Hernandez

Celia Hernandez was born November 9, 1934, in Rosebud, TX, to Maria Aguirre and Tomas Cobos. She married Vincent Mendoza on February 14, 1948, in Haskell, TX. Vincent Mendoza preceded her in death on May 1969. She married John Hernandez in 1971. He passed away in 2000. In addition to her parents and two spouses, Celia was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Lopez in 2014, and her sons, Tomas Mendoza and Nicolas Mendoza.

Celia is survived by her sons, Vincent Mendoza, Jr. of Greeley Carlos Mendoza and his wife, Selena of Lubbock, TX and Francesco Mendoza of Thornton, CO; daughter, Mary Mendoza Knoedler and her husband, Heinz Knoedler, of Schertz, TX and siblings, Tomas Cobos of Wichita Falls, TX, and Mary Aguirre of Delphos, OH. Celia is also survived by over 100 grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren

She was a devout Catholic, loved her children and was a hard worker. During her life she won many Employee of the Month awards.

She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Visitation will take place 4pm-6pm, Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Olinger Highland Mortuary Heritage Hall Chapel, 10201 Grant Street in Thornton.

A Catholic Funeral Rite will take place 9am, Thursday, January 16, 2025 at the Olinger Highland Heritage Hall Chapel, 10201 Grant Street in Thornton. Burial will follow at the Olinger Highland Cemetery.
