Christy Ann Montemayor

Christy was born November 28,1987 to Christopher and Lyndee Montemayor in Denver, CO. She grew up as the younger sister of Amanda and the older sister of Rebecca. The love of her life was David R. Hunsinger, he passed away June 25, 2017.

She attended Northglenn High School and graduated in 2006 as an honor roll student, Christy had a heart of gold and always wanted to help people and animals.Christy was a Girl Scout and enjoyed the many trips and adventures with her friends. Her life in middle school revolved around athletics. She played softball, volleyball, basketball, track and soccer. One of Christy’s proudest accomplishments in middle school was beating the record for discus, which she still holds at Niver Creek middle school. She was athlete of the year in 2001-2002.

High school brought on all new adventures. Music became the new normal. She played alto saxophone, piano and then discovered the percussion world. She enjoyed sharing her musical talents with her sister Amanda.Christy was a part of Northglenn High School Marching Band, the Northglenn High School Drumline, the Blue Knights Winter Percussion Ensemble and the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps. While in Drum Corps she was a member of the 2007 I&E champion front ensemble and had the privilege to travel and perform around the country with them. Another talent Christy had were the hands of an artist, she created many beautiful paintings and drawings. Christy liked to doing it all, and she did, all with ease.

She loved to travel, she and her family took many trips together.

Christy had the brightest smile and soul that could light up any room. In light of her remembrance, her family would like every attendee to wear bright beautiful colors to her celebration of life service held on Tuesday, April 2.

She is survived by her parents; Lyndee & Christopher Montemayor, sisters; Amanda & Rebecca Montemayor, grandmothers, Barbara Montemayor & Dreama Luckinbill and grandfather Lynn Luckinbill, and a large loving family. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Blas Montemayor Jr, great grandfather Clarence Bennington and great grandmothers Margaret Bennington, & Virginia Luckinbill.

Celebration of Life services for Christy will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Broomfield United Methodist Church, 545 West 10th Avenue, Broomfield, Colorado 80020.
