Claribel Ileen Bucholz

Claribel Ileen (Barr) Bucholz, known to her family and friends as “Clara”, passed away on August 31, 2025, in Denver, Colorado at the age of 86. Clara was born on December 6, 1938 in Oil City, Pennsylvania to Roy and Freda Barr. She was raised in Oil City alongside her three brothers and six sisters. While she was a teenager in Oil City, Clara met the love of her life, Paul Bucholz. They wed in 1957. Following their marriage, they grew their family with the births of their four children, Paul Jr., Deborah, Linda, and Thomas. During her pregnancy with Tom, Clara and Paul moved to Denver. Clara was the most loving, caring, selfless, and forgiving person, always putting the needs of everyone else before her own. The door to her house was always open for family, friends, and strangers alike. Clara was preceded by her parents, her loving husband, six siblings, and her son, Paul Jr. She is survived by her three siblings, Nancy Frank (Cork), Dawn Butler (Vilas), and Larry Barr; her children Deborah Terada (Glenn), Linda Longstrom, and Thomas Bucholz (Debbie); her nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way. She will be missed by so many and loved by even more. Clara’s celebration of life will be held Monday, September 8th at Olinger Highland Mortuary and Cemetery (10201 Grant St., Thornton, CO 80229). Visitation will begin at 10 AM with the funeral service at 11 AM and a reception to follow. Graveside service will be at 2 PM.
